December 30th

It's December 30th. Not quite the end but pretty darn close.  It's that last moment before the future.  What will happen in the new year?  Will I make resolutions only to break them again?   Ok this is getting to deep.  I'm looking forward to 2011.  To daughter no 1 graduating college and son graduating high school.  To decorating my house and hopefully FINISHING or at least make it look pulled together.  To making a vegetable garden and planting a flower garden.  To spending more time with my mother.  To husband being home more.  To reading my Bible and hopefully understanding some of it.  Why is it we make plans?  Are we that unhappy?  Or is it just human nature, that need to try new things, to improve or turn over a new leaf.  Well, whatever it is, I'll start the new year with the hope of a new day and maybe lose a few pounds on the way.

Happy Birthday to me!!!

So today I, and my twin brother, turn (drum roll) the big five O!!! It was nice to be told I don't look that old. Now I'm not saying my friends and colleagues are liars, but they sure can stretch the truth (Bless them). Had a great day at work, and enjoyed the wind ensemble at Shepherd College where my daughter plays clarinet, very well if I do say so myself. She has such a beautiful smile. So the day is over (decided NOT to go to the midnight showing of "Harry Potter" 5:30 just comes toooooooo early) So Goodnight, Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

Thanksgiving

So here it is a year later, and I'm just putting on another post. Boy am I lousy at this posting thing. So we are in our new house but it's not "there" yet. I've been auctioning (is that a word? I think not) and buying some neat stuff but nothing really seems to fit together. We are hosting Thanksgiving this year so I have less than 2 weeks to get it together. If I didn't have to go to work it might be possible, but...........

26 June 2009

So I added my first picture to junkrevolution today. Yeah!!! spent the day running to the Habitat Restores for door knobs. 14 in all. My husband wanted ceiling fans in all the rooms plus 2 on the front porch. 11 total. If we turn them all on at one time the house will fly away. Will spend the day tomorrow driving 4 hours to the middle of West Virginia to pick up daughter #2 from 4-H camp. It's going to be a long day.

Starting Over

So I'm starting this blog because I've been reading everyone's on Junkrevolution and a lot of them have personal stuff on them and there seems to be a real community feel.
First I am married to a wonderful hardworking man named Brian. We have 3 children, Katie age 20, Kelly 18, and Kyle who is 16. We have 3 dogs, Buddy, Lilly and Yoko and 2 new cats Charlie (who is psycho) and Missy, a stray who is so sweet.
So here is my story. On January 17, 2008, our home was destroyed by fire. No one was hurt but we did lose our 2 cats Tigger and Puss in boots. We are rebuilding on the same sight and what a journey it has been. I will be posting pictures of the house and treasures I have found junking to furnish it and maybe someone will find it, I don't know, interesting? Will post more tomorrow. Diane
